Australia joins Coffee Varietal Trials
Wonder if the CSIRO are involved, and if this might mean more varietals will be available to grow in Aus?
The articles says it's with Southern Cross University so CSIRO might not be involved at all. SCU has campuses at Lismore, Coffs Harbour and Coolongatta but looking at the faculties at each I'd say its the Lismore Campus that would be doing this research. The original article suggested 30 to 40 years of work. I wonder if they are going to maintain the trees for 20 years or once the seeds are grown out to small tree size they are transfered to a collaborating commercial coffee plantation.
