If you were going to set up a Botique Coffee Shop, what equipment would you select ?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
If you had an unlimited budget and were going to set up a unique & Botique Coffee Shop, what equipment would you get?

Maybe this thread can have some pictures of some freaky gear.

I would definitely check out some of the custom Slayers that The Coffee Man has done. They are freakin' amazing. My favs are 'The Mexican' (etched metal sides) and 'Project Slayer' (marble sides).

SOLID GOLD! I'd like to see that, by my rough calculation there would be at least 12 ounces of gold involved in manufacture, at current gold prices, just under AUS $$1600 an ounce, there would be approx $20,000 worth of gold involved in making the thing.

I suspect dodgy x tampers may well be gold plated.

Rumor has it Yelta, that he has a Solid Gold Slayer on order and he's gonna fly to yanksville and puck it up in his Solid Gold Jet.

These CS Sponsors are living the high life. :P

Im guessing a freaky Custom3 Group would look sweet. You'd need to get an equally impressive Grinder......or series of grinders to sit nearby.

Learn how to make espresso. I thought that was obvious, I have been to many coffee shops who should hang their heads in shame for what they do to helpless coffee beans. Also buy a roaster so your beans are fresh all the time.

I'd get a highly trained and passionate head barista who lacks an ego, a brilliant coffee roaster, A1 chef/cook and suitable equipment and provisions to allow them to shine and surround them with great assistants to help. Add a great people person/accountant/creative mind to guide them and you might just survive if you treat them all with respect and compassion. Oh- and a shite load of cash.

The rest is just bragging rights.

I'd get a toilet with an extra wide waste pipe to facilitate easily flushing away your life savings. Perhaps invite you friends and neighbours to help, you know the ones who said you make a great coffee, you should open a cafe

Completely hypothetical, I won't be opening a cafe, I can ensure you of that, plus I don't have any friends

The trouble is with serious coffee drinkers, 9/10 of them are impossible to please. Extraordinarily fussy.

Coffee too hot, cold, weak, strong, bitter, milky, too much froth, not enough froth, too sunny, too shady, hard seats, slow service, microwaved my carrot cake when I asked for cold and the icing ran off (my wife's complaint recently ) etc etc

    Imagine having customers like that.
    No thanks.

Probably borrowing from Seinfeld here but what about a coffee shop where the customer comes in and makes the coffee for themselves on high end machines ...and then still blames the cafe for the bad coffee.

Fear not. I'll throw in a free turmeric latte^ to wash away any bad taste.

^not that there's anything wrong with that

Oh Kath it is definitely a classy bow teak place if they serve turmeric lattes but I'm up to pussy's bow. Maybe some other time. Love, Kim
