Does pre-boiled water reduce scale in my coffee machine?

    G'day All,

So there is the ongoing issue of maintenance on coffee machines and I was wondering if using pre-boiled water from my kettle ( I cool it prior to filling my reservoir up with it) aides in reducing the minerals that cause scale etc in my machine.

I have a Sunbeam EM7000 and thought would this be a simple maintenance fix vice spending coin on the likes of water filters, descales etc etc

    Thanks for any advice!

    Cheers

In a word mate - No!

In fact, it has the potential of increasing the concentration of dissolved solids responsible for scale accretion in your machine. The only way to reliably remove the offending elements is to use properly filtered water. Lots of info about this to be found here...
