    First time for me

    Yep...

    Definitely got to watch out for those little buggers, especially from a number of Eastern Africa origins.
    Matt aka DesignByCoffee, has a very simple and effective destoner detailed in one of his many posts, so definitely worth looking it up and constructing one of your own...

    I just hand sift my beans to find the odd errant stone and use an old HDD voice-coil magnet to search for old nails, screws, etc that might have snuck in. Found a few over the years.

    Ah yikes, no good Janus! Hope your grinder isn't damaged mate.

    This here is reason enough now for me to sift through and check my green beans. I never have actually checked through them before, I will start now!

    Grinder seems ok, I stopped and emptied it as soon as I heard a crunch. Itís a hand crank so hopefully only an outside tooth chipped at worst.
