Susie O’Brien: Instant coffee is about to be hot again

What a load of unmitigated twaddle, sales of instant must be falling.

The last comment certainly ran their colours up the mast "It’s time to wake up and smell the BS from the coffee industry and give those 43 beans another go."

Still having a chuckle about the dumbass comment, seems they don't consider instant part of the coffee industry, about the only point Susie got right.

Does BS also smell like instant coffee?

Different kind of aroma but both unique in their own particular ways. 🤡

At our office we welcome all comers... SBend43. Muckona. And freshly roasted coffee, ground then brewed your own way.

See other thread same topic for scientific analysis...

Thought she was a swimmer come columnist. She's not.
    She's just a columnist.

a double-shot doppio? yeah, let me go withdraw cash from the ATM machine by putting in my PIN number...

edit: just saw some of the other headlines. sounds like any other local rag trying to drum up something out of nothing.

My first thought reading this deplorable article was “must share on Facebook and ridicule this moron”. But then I realised that would only help her achieve her aim of writing trashy click bait and getting her article everywhere. I’ll leave this garbage where it is, on some lame news site. Pfft

Good grief, I only skimmed it and I’m feeling dumber from the experience. Does anyone know what they grow on a single origin Nigerian farm?

I get that dumbing down is a thing and that the media leads by example, but really???? High end Delonghi or Saeco with built in grinders?? My head hurts

Haha.. yeah as I was reading I got the feeling that there was some kind of agenda/judgement she has behind it... Just dissing specialty coffee for the heck of it and because she doesn't understand what it's about (pegging it as some elitist group), and of course hiding behind environmental arguments to support her views.

And here I was excited to be getting back on the instant bandwagon!

Susie O’Brien: Instant coffee is about to be hot again

There’s plenty of decent ‘instant’ out there to try without resorting to a return to Blend43 or International Roast. I haven’t tried anything like Voila, but I have tried the Steeped Coffee bags and was really impressed. None of this stuff is what this sorry excuse for a journalist is talking about however. Maybe it’s cause it’s not ‘single roasted’?

I look forward to the demise of this woeful tabloid rag. Fortunately most of its articles are behind a pay-wall, which shows the publishers do actually care for those of us sensible enough not to pay for the privilege to consume such drivel.
