    Shipping large espresso machine to NZ from Aussy

    Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Has any one ever shipped a large espresso machine from Australia to New Zealand ?
    If so, could you share some details such as cost, who the shipping company was, how it was packed etc.

    Thank you in advance.

    How large? i've done a few 1 group levers each way with Pack and send . I got them to do the packaging with a system where they put the machine in a box and then use those expanding foam inserts to fill the gaps . It worked great . The main things to avoid damage;

    - Make sure it is strapped to the pallet so it can't move at all
    - Make sure nothing is loose and can rattle around and damage other parts

    Cost was around $300-$400 depending on level of service/insurance etc . Like any franchise the level of service/competence may vary from store to store

    3-5 days, probably depends on the level of service you select. From memory they had gold silver and bronze level at different costs

    Interesting info here. On a related topic, can anybody advise on sending a machine interstate? This would be a regular single group HX machine.

    Does it have its box? If not, do you have one you think appropriate? Scrunched butcher's paper works well for packing (see: every house move).

    If you have measurements and weight then there are web sites, Aus Post, PacknSend, comparison sites, which will answer your question(s).

    Can use Coles bags and a can of the expander foam to make own packing. Put in the bag, and fill with foam. Hold the top shut till its finished expanding

    No box. That is long gone

    I did come across one of those courier comparison sites a while back. It was good in that you put weight and dimensions in and it gave you the options. Unfortunately cannot seem to find it again.
