    Weird Coffee...

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Anyone ever heard of this very peculiar method of combining coffee with mushroom?

I s'pose it might work but I prefer to use a good Indonesian varietal when searching for a touch of earthiness...

Perhaps it is the 'magic' variety of mushroom and after imbibing, it tastes like anything your altered senses make of it.

When I was in Malaysia a few years ago, you could buy durian coffee. Never tried it.

Yeah have heard of this one... can't say I understand it though Mal hehe! And touché about the Indonesian coffee .

Not sure of why that combination... wouldn't leave mushroom for the flavours of the coffee to come through.....

Knew a guy who considered himself an expert on mixing magic mushrooms with other drugs. Other than unwarranted persecution by police and mental health authorities, he assured me they never did him any harm.

Heard years ago that once you got over the smell you had it licked. Memory is a bit hazy but I think it was in reference to durian, or something very much like it.

My first experience with durian I was not a fan, couldn't see what the fuss was about. Then I tried the top quality varieties that came from Malaysia. Very expensive but on a whole new level. In Singapore (and likely other places) you are not allowed to take them on public transport because of the smell and possibly also because of the prickly skin.

Sounds idyllic Mal. Do durians grow natively in PNG?

    G'day Steve...

I don't believe that they are a native to PNG but were brought in by Indonesian and S.E. Asian immigrants many decades ago. Quite a few expats had them in their gardens that were planted many moons before we ever got there; and probably before any expats were ever there
