    That's the most accessible to a non coffee person explanation of that paper I've come across

    I agree, that's always been Dr Karl's skill.

    We should make this required listening for all newbies, covers the espresso process really well too.

    Have always enjoyed Dr. Carl's unique way of dissecting the essential components from a complex subject and then presenting them in a universally comprehensible style. Miss his one-time regular segments on ABC TV.

    Dr Karl has a pretty busy Thursday live radio "question time" schedule, I listen live on triplej at 11:00am and then on ABC Perth at 2:00pm (there are a few more), where and when I can. Always enjoy his answers and presentations of them. From memory he uses an Atomic style coffee maker at home.
