Yes, it was an interesting read. Im going to Phuket in a few weeks and am hoping to find some good coffee while there. One thing puzzles me though; the "facts" box on the left of the article states the countrys currency as the Balboa (Rocky?) and the US dollar. Correct me if Im wrong, but isnt it the Baht?

    Hmmm

Always thought it was the Baht and was when I was there a couple years ago.

    Probably just a mistake.

    Its the Thai baht.
The Balboa is the Panamanian unit of currency. Only on the opposite side of the world

Yes very interesting article Ben. I actually have a friend in the north of Thailand at the moment who is sending me 5kg of green beans grown at Doi Chaang (100%Arabica, all grown above 4000ft, shade grown, wet processed). From what I have been told the farmers there are very finicky about how the coffee is grown and processed. The quality is supposed to be outstanding and at approx $4/kg retail (price in thailand) it could turn out to be a real find.

Assuming border patrol doesnt steal them, I will be roasting the beans in a crazy popper and will try a few different roast profiles to see which suits best. Ill let you know how it turns out.
