Just for fun I did a yahoo search for coffee snobs...I never realized there were other real "Coffee Snobs" out there.

My wife calls me a coffee snob, a name I wear proudly ;D

I just registered on the site and will be taking a look around.

    This is cool.

I dont feel so alone now :-?

    Thanks Kosmo,

Currently I have a Capresso infinity burr grinder and 2 Bodum press pots.

Ive just ordered 2 pounds of Tanzanian Peaberry from Peets coffee.

I love coffee...the smell, the taste, the anticipation of my first morning cup. I am just learning about the ins and outs of coffee lingo. This is a cool site.

Got any hints about GREAT coffee beans?

    I L C

Gday ILC ... welcome to the our little world of coffee obsession ;) Well, little, but not immune to bloody nuisance spammers >:( - but thats another thread ...

Scan the Cupping Room section of this forum for members opinions of various beans - youll soon notice that whats great to your taste aint necessarily great to anothers. Its a very informative analysis of intrinsic flavours evident in the spectrum of beans that different regions of the world grow.

Coffee, its taste, its degree of enjoyment, is relative & highly personalised.

Also check out Andys Brown Beans on offer (top left of the home page) for quality beans roasted to bring out the optimum of flavour characters intrinsic to a single origin.

Or, try his Wow blend ...

Or, invest in the high tech art of roasting your own from scratch, with a breadmaker & heat-gun, cooling mechanism, & de-gassing bags. Andy offers a range of greens once a month.

Oh, and enjoy the journey mate!

    Tony :D

oops, I shouldve read more in-depth & not have assumed that youre Oz based! ;D

Ignore my comments above about ordering Andys beans on-line, but still scan the cupping section to get an insight into what various SOs have to offer in terms of flavour.

Have you checked out Sweet Marias, seeing that youre in the US?

    ... http://www.sweetmarias.com/

    Cheers,

OK mate, if you want to keep your wallet and your sanity (well, wallet anyway--the sanity is suspect since you signed up!) then run as fast as you can and never darken our doorways again.
    Otherwise, welcome!

You all sound like coffee snobs indeed. I feel right at home.

Thanks for the info on coffee suggestions. At some point Id love to learn to roast my own beans.

As long as I have a GREAT cup of coffee, I will remain sane. The wallet may be empty though =-(
