Tree identity - Robusta or Arabica ..?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi All,
Just coming up to the first real season of berries on one of my coffee trees, and am almost ready to give it a shot (excuse the pun...) at preparing my own grown beans for roasting.
However, ive just realized i dont know the exact species of coffee tree it is - ...? The plants were given to me as small trees around *4 yrs ago, and i have no idea if its a Coffea Arabica, or the Robusta variety...? (Hopefully its an Arabica..)
Can anyone shed any light by looking at the pic?

    Cheers for your help,
    Regards,
    Rod

I would think there arabica. I havent seen robusta available for general retail so unless the person who gave them to you got them from a farm of something id go with arabica. I dont know if there is a difference in the leaves between the 2 but your leaves look the same shape and size as my arabica.

Good luck there might be a botanical gardens near you that may be able to identify them.

Id say definitely Arabica, not sure what variety of arabica though.. it looks quite small for 4 years old? Thats another reason why I think itd be arabica, robusta are quicker growers with more prolific croping.
Theres a website out there with drawings on the leaf types etc I think, Ill see if I can find it for ya. The leaves are different between the types of trees, arabica robusta liberica etc.

    Damn cant find it..
Im sure robusta looks a little different, .. like the cherries are more in clumps rather than down the stems.. but yeah its been too long so dont take my word for it!
Just pop one of those red cherries open and have a look at the shape of the seed, thatll tell you for sure!

    Hi Rolley,...ta for your help.
Yeah, from what i read, the Robusta beans are more of a round shape, rather than oval, and mine are definitely oval - I have my first batch fermented, and drying, as we speak...
My new Rancilio Silvia + Rocky Doserless grinder arrived in the mail today !! Hooray! So tomorrow i start experimenting ! (Using Vittoria cafe blend beans currently)
    Mmmm...bring on the morning .>!
