    Theft of VBM DS #19630

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi all,

On Tuesday 11th November, TNT collected a black VBM Domobar Super Lever from Dennis at Taren Point to come back to our Melbourne office.

It was "sighted" by TNT at their Enfield depot at 06.45 am the following morning after which it- according to TNT, "disappeared".

I can only assume that one of their "reformed" [s]criminal[/s] drivers or staff have taken it upon themselves to help themselves to it. Somewhat amazingly, TNTs attitude, to put it crudely is tough bickies- you lose and we dont care.

One would assume that it will either go into hiding in a home or more *likely be sold on the bay of evil or in a pub..

I would greatly appreciate if the CS community could keep an eye open. Im sick to death of these apathetic, no hoper criminals... >:( >:( >:(

    Bloody hell mate....

This mob would have to be the worst freight company in Australia >:(. How the hell do they get away with having no responsibility for goods in transit being held in their premises? Seems ludicrous to me..... :-?

    Thats too bad.
TNT once lost a laptop of mine the whole process was a nightmare so I have not used them since. At the prices they charge for insurance youd think they are expecting them to get [s]stolen[/s] lost.

    Hope you get it back

    Buggered if I know Mal...

I have had a gutful. I will be "losing" their accounts until such time as they refuse service. At that point, they can take me to court and attempt to extract the funds...

    Small Claims Tribunal 1800 133 055.
its free, apply and let them do the chasing up for you. Better than nothing. At least it will make TNT do something, and annoy them also. It will take weeks....but you have a case thats for sure.

They must have some sort of camera surveillance in the warehouse
Why canít they look at it just to check?

Thats Bulls#!t Chris they must be held responsible for losing something they are shipping. Whats stopping them from losing every parcel they have.
Didnt they damage an espresso machine you had shipped to outback WA a while ago, which you had to replace and sold the machine as second hand.
We use TNT at work and had some headlights off a Mercedes Actros truck get damaged, but work paid for the insurance. It took about a month to get another from Gremany and ship it to Katherine.

These guys deserve all the bad press thats possible.

Its incredibly frustrating when you go out of your way to do the best you can for customers, only to be let down by a bunch of fools like this. >:(

Can you not report them to the police Chris?

The small claims tribunal is a good idea too.
The one in NSW costs $50 but it forces them to send somone on the appointed hearing date.
The magistrate or whatever can make a legally binding finding for costs in your favour.

Hopefully its the same down there.

    Chris,
You have only two (legal) hopes in regards to compensation (according to my reading).
1 You fit the description of a consumer under the Trade Practices Act.
2 Their standard contract (like the standard parking lot contract) is essentially illegal.

    Good luck.

Dogs. In fact, thats insulting to dogs.

You just dont do that to someones coffee machine.
They should be shot, then hanged, then shot again. Grrrrr.

And then given no coffee for a month.

Insurance should cover damage in transit...

Outright loss or we can no longer find it; should fall squarely with them.

Best of luck and trust us... A few will be looking out in the market place...

Right on AngerManagement, it is easy to set up a "watch this item" sort of thing on evilbay and add" show me similar items" to keep an eye out, same sort of deal for tradingpost I believe .. Gaz

Re: Theft of VBM DS #19630

    Hi Chris,
Sorry to hear your predicament. TNT are a pretty crap courier from my 3 experiences with them. MY Giotto went missing when you sent it a couple of months ago. I had taken the day off work to play with my new toy as TNT rang the afternoon before to check if someone was going to be home, and at 830 in the morning a bloke and van rocked up and delivered only the grinder and box of accesories. He said the last package would be along shortly. Waiting is bad enough, but to tease me with only a grinder is just cruel. At 1200 i had had enough and rang them again and they just said they didnt have it but would look into it and get back to me, BULLS%^T, time to go to the depot. I headed to the depot with all the tracking numbers and printouts from the net tracking page showing the item arriving in Perth. Anyway, after cruising around the depot for 45 minutes the package was found in a pretty out of the way corner (looked suss to me) and thankfully my name was printed on the side, so with some ID on hand, the box was put on the ute and after a total of 3 hours i was back at home with my new toy. No one in any managenent positions that i spoke to at the depot cared at all.
    Hope the VBM turns up.
    James

Wonder if Today Tonight would like to hear about this? I am sure TNT wouldnt like to hear any bad press, and publicly viewed on the idiotbox for all to see.

Sorry to hear about this Chris. Hope it turns up for you.

    ;D Linda...Good idea.

Funny thing is I think I hate TT sensationalism even more than I hate TNT!

TNT will pay- one way or another. We have commenced criminal proceedings and will also pursue them via VCAT..

Meanwhile, my response to requests for payment on their accounts will be: "Yes, we acknowledge receipt of your account. Once the account was sighted by us, it subsequently disappeared and as a result, we regret that we cannot accept responsibility for the account". We suggest that you take it up with your insurers if you have some.

Perhaps they might just get a deja vu moment... >:(

Sorry to hear about your machine Chris. We use TNT at our office and I have now warned the accounts department. However, TNT handle mostly docs and engineering drawings for us, nothing as tempting as a shiny new VBM. Today Tonight recently ran a story on my wife and daughter who protested about the banning of cartwheels at my daughters primary school. I was a bit worried when my wife agreed to do the interview, but the fellow did an excellent job. Nothing too over the top (no pun intended...). *:)

Monkey Bars have been banned for some time... Some are not only looking at Cartwheels but also other activitys... Needless to say where is the balance of Common Sense Vs Fear of litigation..

Saw the show and a number of follow-ups as others schools were also identified... What go me was the Parents who were driving this... OFF Topic.

Please keep as all advised as to the outcome of any action with TNT... I guess if you were on site and able to do a physical inspection... It might have been found some where in a corner... By now it has grown legs and sitting in a garage waiting for x-mas and some one will get something and think the giver has outdone themselves... SHAME on YOU.

    Bastards.

My story: This company smashed a personal guitar of mine once. Saw the driver thug drop it out the back of the truck. Asked him why he did this and the 120kg plus ape like excuse for a courier just shrugged and said it (the under 10kg box) was too heavy!!!!!

By the time I opened the box and found the damage he was long gone. I rang em and they didnt care, despite the obvious mistreatment of MY goods by TNT. The sender didnt tick the insurance box on the consignment note so I was stuffed. No apology. Nothing.

I had an account with them and had a $17 balance! I refused to pay it because I had a $250 repair bill for what the thugs had done to my guitar! It was the only thing I could do. Then the bastards set the lawyers on me and tried to have me reported as a bad debt.

    Bastards.

    Go get em guys.

Re: Theft of VBM DS #19630

    The saga continues.....

TNT still havent been able to locate the missing machine....Funny about that ::)

TNT will not take responsibility for any compensation for the the loss. Their response- "Take it up with your insurers"

We sent a demo Giotto Premium Plus to the buyer as a straight swap for the VBM which disappeared. The buyer had been inconvenienced by TNT for long enough.

TNT failed to deliver that one for two days- forward and back to their depot in a truck. Driver too busy and then it sat on the dock for another day...

Needless to say that by the time the buyer got the Giotto that was damaged as well.

The buyer was 3km from me. I should have put it in the boot of the car.

Once again, their response: "Tough titties" *>:(

We are taking all of our business to another company in the next couple of weeks and will not be paying any TNT accounts.

CSers, if your company uses them, dump them.

    Chris

I bought a BM on evilbay last week and the seller sent it to me via TNT. Yesterday morning my wife got a call from them saying they were unable to locate my place (#193). They said the driver checked number 195 and saw a shop which was closed up. Anyway, it finally turned up and I checked the box. Quite clearly labeled on the box and the invoice was the street no. 193.

    Chris,

Definitely need to give TNT the flick.....

We have been very happy with Mainfreight. They pick up the orders promptly, and all deliveries have been timely and undamaged.

There has been only one minor "hiccup" when a driver (they subcontract local pickup and deliveries) collected the roaster and, because he was "busy" didnt return to the depot in time for that days dispatch.

Mainfreight rang an apologised profusely, offered to have it returned to me for the next shipment (only Tuesdays and Fridays from Perth) or they would hold it at the depot and it would go on the next dispatch.

They have even dropped in to see if I had any for dispatch (just in case)....

Cant get much better than that!

    Behmor Brazen - $249 - Free Freight
either TNT failed to sight the ID of the person who collected the item or it is an inside job- sounds like the latter to me. in either case TNT failed in their obligation to you and are derelict in their duty. if someone else signed for the item then they have a responsiblilty to track them down; if no one signed for the item then that is an admission that they still have the item. good luck.
