Youre not alone there Tepin. I didnt even own a TV for over 20 years. Then a friend brought one over because he thought I was too poor to buy one and needed one. I had a laugh I told him to "Look around! Theres over a dozen current model computers running here. If Id wanted a TV Id have bought one!" So it now resides under a pile of stuff and is pulled out for a few days every 2 years for the Olympics. And as horrible as their coverage has been here for the last two games I will most likely not even bother with that the next go-around. >:(

Ive lived my entire adult life with no TV and have never really missed it, especially since the net got off the ground. My kid was raised in a house with no TV, but always had a current state of the art high speed internet connection and thousands of books. :) She took some ribbing for it early on, once they got over their disbelief that we really didnt have a TV, but it very quickly became a point of pride for her not to have a TV in the house.

With the internet at my fingertips via a highspeed connection I have thousands of times more channels for information than via TV. When the invasion of Iraq was happening I had at times up too a dozen live, unedited feeds from cameras located in major cities there as well as the feeds coming in live from the battlefield. Feeds that the news media used to make their stories from. I watched live from 3 different camera angles as the tank shot a round into the journalists hotel. I watched live from 3 different angles as a tank shot up the al jazeera news offices, including a first person view from their camera on the top of the building as 50 cal rounds started tearing the building, and a few seconds later the camera itself, apart. Live unedited views, reports, and battles that never made it past the editors to be reported to the public. All with-out ever having turned a TV on.

The internet is your friend, and the enemy of all oppresive governments.
