Pioneer Coffee Roastery and World Domination!

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
A big welcome to our new sponsors, Pioneer Coffee Roastery. (Or, at least they seem new to me!) Nice to have someone up in QLD.

So, now we just need reputable sponsors in SA and WA, right? Or is there someone in NT that desperately needs their fix ;P

    Cheers,

    Luca

I agree on all counts Luca.

Its great to have quality sponsors on board that support the site and its membership.

...and with good looking output like their image below we should all drop-in for a cuppa sometime. :)

Pioneers main site at Yandina is a great place. Inside theres a rough hewn timber bar which sits around a big roaster. I think they do their coffee tastings there. Its a very impressive sight when you first walk in!

Id recommend a visit to any C.Sr. The guys are very friendly and love to chat all things coffee. I already get their email newsletter, which is well appreciated of course!

Speaking of which, has anyone seen their DVD? Its sort of a barista basics, then heaps of latte art combo. Luke pours all of the freepour classics and a few more, then theres about 35 million hours of different etches, many of which I hadnt seen before. Etching is not really my thing ... almost fell asleep while that segment was on, but the sheer range of etches was pretty awesome. Luke must have a bottle of choc syrup surgically implanted into his arms! Does anyone know if they actually do that in the roastery, or is it just freepour? Ill be more than happy with a cappuccino thats just a whack of choc powder and a rosetta, but if someone wants to serve me a DNA helix with the base pairs responsible for the gene that improves vision in the dark clearly indicated, Im gonna give them credit for it!

    Cheers,

    Luca

Yeah ... they also didnt use a spatula ;P

Stencils would be useless to Luke. Too clumsy for the micromolecular detail that he needs to go into ;P

    Cheers,

Thanks for the kind (I think???) words guys.
As for the DVD and its overload of etchings.....yes, I hang my head in shame, but surely this makes up for it (http://dvdpreview.datosoftware.com/PioneerEspressoPreview-LowQuality.zip
). But seriously, with the etching and espresso basics, it appeals to a wide market.

In the roastery we prefer the free pouring, rosettas of all shapes and varieties, but mainly its the espresso. We have any particular combo of beans in our 3 grinders, normally an award winning blend and a single origin and sometimes a project (with mixed results).

We are having a meet and greet here on Sunday 1 Oct for any QLDers who would like to attend. The morining kicks off around 9:30 and we normally get a good gathering of coffee fanatics from all walks of life.
