    wikipedia corretto entry

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I have opened a Wikipedia entry on the Corretto - my own work there is limited and it could use expanding and additional links. Currently I have linked it to the home coffee roasting entry and cross linked from that as well!

Feel free to add your wisdom!

    Re: wikipedia corretto entry

"Corretto, from the Italian for Corrected is the name given to a home roasting coffee method that used a bread machine to stir the beans and a stand-mounted heat gut to provide the heat."

Nice work Grendel, reveal our secrets to the world and at the same time confuse the hell out of anyone wanting to try it out. :P

I like it. Now if only I had a heat gut..... :D

If you dont mind Ive added a little to the "External links" description.

Otherwise I thought it was excellent.

Do make sure to check it once a week in case the mods decide to try and delete it (it happened to one of my entries and took weeks to get back up).

They have a thing about "notability".

If they dont consider the subject notable enough it gets marked and if you dont object within 5 days its removed.

Lets say someone raised an entry for CoffeeSnobs when it first started and there was merely a handful of members.
Theyd have probably removed it if it was noticed and noted and no one objected within the 5 days.

Today though, with over 1500 members and being such an obviously popular forum, theyd have no argument.

By the way, the recent newspaper article would go a long way towards being notable as the Wiki people like independent publications backing you up.

I wonder if its the same person whos been camping on the coffeesnobs.com domain for years now. Or perhaps a disgruntled competitor.

Ok, we need an argument for retaining the Corretto as a separate entry in Wikipedia.

For starters, post here if you are using a Corretto - a good starting place would be its widespread use, eg "10% of just one forum uses it, of course its a common thing....."

Then we need examples of other entries in Wikipedia that "could" be combined but arent.

It might also help if the opening paragraph was edited into something resembling proper English.

Also as another aside CS is not a co-op. It is a privately held company.

Well I can join the "save the corretto entry" campaign as I picked up a breadmaker that I won on the dreaded auction site today. So with a bit of luck someone will bring my heat gun down from Newcastel for me on the weekend and I will be an official Corretto Club member. Even stirs for 27 minutes without modification. Hope it can stay on wikipedia is such a cool thing.
    Vote 1 Corretto for Wikipedia!

On a side note, the "Corretto" is also listed amongst the home coffee roasting section, in its only little paragraph :-)

We have to justify why it needs to shine on its own little entry ..........

Because it is an innovative way to home roast with a DIY roaster allowing totally hands free operation. ;) It provides results similar (could say identical - but that might offend some!) to a commercial roaster.

Edited and improved - I would strongly encourage others to add their own wisdom to the article - if it is seen to be growing then it becomes a live article. If you dont have a wikipedia account you can still edit *- just click on the edit page tag at the top - better to get an account though, editing without one may display your IP address in the changes log.

I have also expanded the article on Coffee Snobs and would appreciate expansion there also!

    Re: wikipedia corretto entry

    I warned you. *::)

    Wheres that newspaper article gone?
    Ahh there it is http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1160117270/0

The link to the newspaper article is in there.
    http://www.news.com.au/couriermail/story/0,23739,20588792-5004581,00.html

Ill try add it to the wiki article as a reference because it mentions CoffeeSnobs as well as the breadmaker.

    EDIT:
    Great minds think alike.
I see someone has beat me to it.
