A Birmingham artist has created a miniature portrait of the Queen on a coffee bean.

Willard Wigan specialises in micro sculptures and his latest work marks the Queens Diamond Jubilee.

Mr Wigan said: "It was a bit of a challenge because a coffee bean crumbles and is hollow in the middle."

Before the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton Mr Wigan produced a sculpture of the couple that fitted in the eye of a needle.

He said the coffee bean sculpture, which was commissioned by coffee company Douwe Egberts, was "a lot bigger" than his usual work.

Mr Wigan was made an MBE for services to the arts in 2007.

    Heh,
Reminds me of an Alexei Sayle song and accompanying video called the "Popup Toaster" which he released in the 80s.

The 80s was a very long time ago... you must be really old to remember it.
