    Event in Perth last Sunday

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Thanks to those who came along on Sunday - we had about 25 people roasting, cupping, and making espresso - an extremely enjoyable day... Thanks so much to Ben and 5 senses for all the green and roasted beans and the coffee machines and grinders. We may do this sort of event again if people are interested... anything to get another use of that Isomac teamed up with the Mazzer grinder!!...
Incidentally, Bec gave birth two hours before this event happened, but still urged Matt to go and make coffee and bring some back!! Now theres commitment to the cause for you!

Sounds like a great day - Im kicking myself for missing it (unfortunately I was double booked *:() but Ill definitely be in for the next one.

Congratulations to Matt&Bec on their new baby - thats fantastic news!

Speaking from experience, coffee will become (even more of) a fundamental household staple over the coming weeks *;)

hey there... On Sunday 15th April, were organising a little afternoon when people can come and try different methods of coffee roasting (heatgun, roasting machine, breadmaker, popper, stovetop)... and then practice some espresso shots and latte art. Basically its just a fun coffee-appreciation day for anyone whos interested. Some people there will have no clue about coffee, others will have some experience in roasting and espresso-making.

This is not a commercial/profit-making event - just a one-off event run by coffee lovers, based at our church in Morley... Were asking people to bring $5 to go towards covering the cost of beans and milk.

If youd like to find out more or come along, send us an email: mattm@bedford.org.au

missed that announcement completely... sorry guys, would have loved to attend.

congratulations to the new parents!! Enjoy all the wonder that goes with 10 tiny fingers and 10 tiny toes... and may your coffee be strong enough to help you through the sleepless nights!!

Sorry to those who missed out - we realise we put the announcement in the wrong section... and later found out there was a similar event on the day before!... Oh well... live and learn...

Here is a pic of some of the stuff we had there: Roasters, popcorn poppers, grinders, beans, espresso machines...

Assuming of course, your bench tops are in fact less cluttered than what appears in the photo ;)

She may otherwise expect you to get rid of some stuff!

hmmm... all this talk about wives and coffee is making me think that perhaps Bec wont be as pleased as Id hoped when she comes home to find the new babys room converted into a mini-cafe... looks like the synesso wallpaper is gonna have to come down...

(one more pic from the coffee day, for good measure)

We still have a whole bunch of roasted single origin beans, so Bec and I are toying with the idea of having a low-key coffee morning at our place this Saturday, when the beans will be just over a week old. We also have a bunch of green beans, so we may do some more roasting on this occasion too... Let me know if youre interested - Ill start a new post about it if it goes ahead.

    Matt
