    Under New Management!

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
;D Happy First Birthday CoffeeSnobs *;D

Twelve months ago CoffeeSnobs was born and in that time a lot of great things have happened.

Together we have seen the site evolve and attract some very keen, knowledgeable and interesting people all with a passion for getting a better coffee experience and having a whole lot of fun getting there.

Rich and Rae originally started the site from the humble beginnings of “who wants a share in a bag of coffee” and today it has evolved into a website full of home roasters, coffee tasters and hardware tinkerers. *Rich and Rae both had fun in the ups and downs of getting the project running and have decided that it at this time in their lives they would prefer to concentrate on other ventures and more importantly their family. *

What does this have to do with Andy Freeman? *

Well on a similar vein to (albeit a much smaller scale) Victor Kiam of Remington fame “I liked the shaver so much, I bought the company”. *We finalised a deal yesterday for the transfer of CoffeeSnobs to me and all parties are happy with the outcome. *I would like to thank them for their long hours and huge efforts in the past and look forward working together again in the future. *

What does this mean for CoffeeSnob members?

Continuation of supply is the highest priority at the moment and I am working towards getting the next round of very special coffees at great prices in here soon.

I really look forward to hearing your thoughts and opinions (both loves and hates) either in this thread or if you prefer privately via instant message or email andy@coffeesnobs.com.au

Lets see what we can build together in 2005!

With most things that are "under new management" changes start to show....

Andy, are there any plans to change the way you do business, or the system is run?

Should we be expecting things to be pretty semmless from our end e.t.c?

    just curious.

Rae & Rich, thanks very much for all your efforts over the past (sometimes tumultuous & hectic, but more often enjoyable) year. “Every journey starts with a single step"…..thanks for taking those initial steps.

    Cheers

Good question. In just 12 months, CoffeeSnobs has a strong history of dynamic evolution. Some aspects failed but some were very successful and in the coming months we will try a mix of “tried and trusted” as well as “new and exciting” methods of getting green coffee beans to passionate home roasters.

Rest assured Lovebite that the ride will be fun and coffee fantastic!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. We were very pleased to hand it all over to Andy. He has the passion and drive that can really make this work and we needed to turn our attention to other things.

We will still be hanging around and Andy has our full support in whatever direction he wants to take CS.

We have offered Andy our help in any area he needs assistance, and I would ask that all members consider doing the same wherever possible.

There have been many ups and downs in the evolution of CS and it hasnt always been easy, and at times not always fun. So in light of that I would encourage all members to be as much help to Andy as possible keeping in mind that while its him that is heading up CS, members can also assist by lending a hand or participating in other areas open to them.

Lets try to make the transition as smooth for Andy as we possibly can.

    Regards
    Rae & Rich

I would also like to offer my thanks and congratulations to the both of you for building CS into what it is today. It is obvious that the both of you would have had many sleepless nights as this baby evolved. Good luck with your new projects.

    Andy

    Re: Under New Management!

    Hi All,

I suppose even the best jockeys have to hand the reigns over to someone else at some point in time.
I would just like to express my gratitude to both Rich and Rae for their generous contributions to the Australian coffee connoisseur community in general and in particular to all of us who collectively owe the furthering of our interests in the coffee experience via the terrific auspices of CoffeeSnobs.

Having said that, I shall now look forward to the continuing evolution of the CoffeeSnobs community under the new stewardship of Andy Freeman. I would also like to add that although Im a bit limited in what I can do due to some health problems and the fact that I live out in the sticks a bit, I would like to offer my time to the CS community in what ever capacity you think I might be able to be of help. Please, do not hesitate to contact me if you think there is something that I might be able to do, however small or menial.

Wish you every success as the new steward of CoffeeSnobs Andy, Im sure CS will only get bigger and better as time goes along. All the best, and

    Cheers,
    Mal.

Cheers to Rich and Rae, and to Andy for taking up the reins. ;D This group is our group only as long as we all put in.. ;) Count me in for the next bean weigh in and distribution, so long as its in the greater Melbourne area (for the next six months at least!).

May I also, like many others, express my sincere thanks to Rich & Rae for their tireless efforts in bringing life to the home roasting scene in Australia. Best wishes to both, and hope to see you again.
