Ex-servicemen to benefit from RSL coffee deal

The RSL and a Brisbane coffee-maker have joined forces in a commercial deal to help raise funds for ex-servicemen.

The RSL has endorsed Kokoda Coffee in return for a share of the companys profits.

RSL national president, Major-General Bill Crews, says the funds will go to veterans and the people of Papua New Guineas Kokoda district who helped Australian forces stop the Japanese advance in World War II.

"The bonds have been strengthened over the years and many Australians are now visiting the Kokoda Track, walking it, meeting the locals and theres considerable effort to enhance their quality of life along the track," he said.

"This is another dimension to that done through the commercial company thats marketing their coffee product."
