    Happy 2019 CoffeeSnobs

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    2018 was a BIG year.

We landed so much great coffee, literally tonnes of it and dispersed it all across the country from coast to coast, top to bottom.

Many newbie CoffeeSnobs improved their coffee greatly with the wonderful help and effort from the Snobs community. Our little corner of the Internet continues to be a great resource for people to share, learn and strive for better results.

An obvious 2018 highlight for me as a roaster was winning the overall Golden Bean Roasting Competition (are you sick of hearing that yet?), equally great was us being able to share the same beans both green and roasted to CoffeeSnobs everywhere. It's fun that everyone has access to competition level coffees and I always get a kick out of seeing people enjoying them as much as we do.

2018 was a good year for freight. As a percentage, very few things disappeared and only some took much longer to arrive than they should have. Hopefully our freight friends will continue to improve and make 2019 better still. As always though we do suggest order earlier, stress less.

FairCrack continues to do amazing things thanks to the support of the CoffeeSnobs community. Your orders and FairCrack payments really are changing lives for the better and I'm sure most agree that the small amount per order is never really missed from your back pocket but as a group we have had some excellent results. Our biggest project to date was earlier this year when we landed 1200 solar lighting kits for the villages on Kilimanjaro. At a saving of just over 2 litres of kerosene per month that's a whopping 30,000 litres of kero this year that didn't need to be bought, burnt or inhaled while using. Great for health, education and the planet. (We all just need to hide from the kero sellers in Africa who can't be too happy with us)

Have a safe New Year and don't make any silly resolutions like giving-up coffee, instead think about having a resolution to give-up BAD coffee!

Here's hoping 2019 is a wonderful year for you and all those you love

... and apart from the coffee success, enjoy the salt flats again in 2019... Good to have a hobby.

Really looking forward to the salt racing again but starting to get a little stressed that it's only 2 months away, lots to do before then.

    So...
for the 1st of January we started with an Ethiopian Harrar in the Brazen, with last years roast date!

Crikey! that came around fast, seems only a couple of months back that you were up there in 2018.

    Whats the goal this year?

Oh yeah, definitely faster else I wouldn't go.

350kmh would be a good start but 400 is such a nice round number.

Probably all down to traction (or more likely lack of it) plus a smile from the aero gods. Good luck - and yep, I would be trying for 400...
