    Cupping Course with Peter Wolff

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Dear CSers

For some time a lot of people have been making inquiries into cupping courses. I have been working on a introduction to cupping course, with other advanced courses being worked up as well to continue on from the introduction levels.

I am opening up an invitation to 6 people to attended the inaugural beginners course to be held on Saturday the 10th of November at the first pour from 10am to 1pm. This is will be free of charge as I am seeking the attendees feedback on content, general impression etc.. that can allow me to further tailor the format and content.

Should be fun day! I would prefer that only you are either a coffee enthusiast and not from the coffee industry as the course is more consumer/enthusiast focused. Could you please email me if your are interested in attending by no later than Wednesday the 7th of November. roaster@venezianocoffee.com.au

In the event that we receive more than six interested people I will draw your names out of the ha and advise you by return email.

    Peter,

Many many thanks for you time, efforts and enthusiasm for running this session, and to the rest of the Veneziano crew on the day for making us feel so welcome.

I found the session to be a real eye opener [should I say taste bud opener] and will never taste or view coffee in the same way again.
For me there is now a clear distinction that is: BCC & ACC [before cupping course, after cupping course]

I think all of us have taken onboard the skills/techniques and information you introduced us to, and will now be able to develope and build on them them over time.
This is wonderful information thing to pass on to a coffee enthusiast, and Im sure other coffee snobbers/enthusiasts will find the same in the future.

It was also great to be able pick your brains, get a little side tracked and generally share in you vast knowledge and enthusiasm of all things coffee.

So thanks again, and I for one am very much looking foward to the next installments.

    Cheers
    Reuben

PS... It was also great to meet and hang out with some other CSers and share such an experience together......I dont think any of us would disagree that the course you ran left us all "totally blown away".

Yep, I agree, it was a great time and Peters knowledge, generosity and experience were fantastic as was his willingness to share.

Thanks Peter, did my first cuppings today, interesting to try and put it into practice.

Looking forward to the next instalment.

    Hi guys,

Whilst all of the action was happening, Donnie and I were busy tasting some experimental espresso blends. I did get to cup one lot briefly, but would have loved to have cupped more. Looked like everyone had fun and everyone sounded like they were describing tastes that were at least plausible!

Thankyou to everyone for helping us out with our little experiment and Im looking forward to more interesting cuppings next year.

    Cheers,

    Luca

Thanks Luca, as ever for your help & interest, most appreciated.

Not sure that some of my descriptions were that plausible, but good fun!!!

Can only get better from here.

Thanks Peter, for all your time and enthusiasm in running this course with us. It was a lot of fun and very informative. The time just flew by. Im going to try and roast up some samples out of my african greens next weekend and see if I can place the differences. All the CSers looked like they were having a ball, I know I was! ;D (The occasional frown was just me trying to find a name to put with what I was tasting.) :-[

    Thanks again,
    Gavin

    Hi Peter,

Thank you for a fantastic, informative event. I really appreciate the time you put into the event. For me it was completely new, not really knowing what a cupping was. I have increased my understanding of the taste process (what we can taste and how) and look forward to future installments to the course. Roger Thompson who I bought along was similarly impressed and appreciative.

Thank you again, your passion for coffee is unmistakable.

    A bit belated but ...

I managed to be in Melbourne at the time and was very pleased to
have the opportunity to attend. Id read a bit about cupping and had
tried a couple of half baked experiments at home, but there is nothing
like the guidance of an expert such as Peter, and the opportunity to
share experiences with others on the same learning curve.

Certainly an intense three hours where we all learnt a lot and left
    wanting to know more.

Below is a picture of some of the assembled throng in various stages
of cup contemplation. Thanks again, Peter, and it was great to put
faces to the names of some CSers.
