    buying new grinder question again

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
I got myself a second hand Silvia a couple of weeks ago.
At the moment Im still using Delonghi KG100/Solis 166 grinder, and manage to grind it fine enough for the Silvia (even managed to choke it one day)
Im not sure whether this is just an impulse to upgrade or not, but having reading a lot here and everywhere, I think my current grinder may not be good enough or consistent enough to give me good result with the Silvia.
Trying not to spend a lot more money, I can some gift voucher either for Myer/David Jones.
I spotted they have Lux grinder and Gaggia MDF the other day.
Now i need input (sorry for the typical question of) which one would be better?
I may not like the doser of MDF, but if it is better, I probably just put up with it.
Thanks and sorry for bringing up the question (again)

forgot to mention that I do not drink that much coffee, prolly 2-4 cups a day
Also, the price for lux I think $269, while MDF $299

Re: buying new grinder question again

    Hi there,

I love my Silvia + Lux combination and can highly recommend the Lux. It can choke the Silvia and still grind finer than that. Of course the Gaggia MDF will do the same (and may even grind cooler, which is better) but the doserless Lux means you can grind directly and most freshly straight into your basket, which I think is a great advantage. If my Lux ever dies, Id pay the extra $100 and get a doserless Rocky over an MDF.

    Hope this helps.

    Rob
