    Rancilio MD40

    Hi folks

I am watching an auciton on NZs trademe at the moment for a used Rancilio MD40. At this stage, age and condition is largely unknown, but its described as "tidy".

If it needs burrs, whats the likely damage (cost) of those, and is there anything else I should look out for?

I assume that it is stepless. Its a manual model

    Cheers

    thanks for that AM.

Any other ideas on quality, things to look out for in a 2nd hand machine.
Also, anyone know how it compares to a SJ?

I realise burr size is smaller, but grind quality, level of mess left in the doser etc?

    Thanks

Thanks anyway. Is a moot point now, someone used the buynow option, so its no longer there.

Tossing up between a new Kompak K3 touch or a used SJ. Quite different grinders, the SJ will be cheaper, but K3 may more suit my needs (small volumes), but the SJ would have the cool factor.

Not rushing though, more important things to put money towards just at the moment.
