    Nuova Simonelli MDX/MDM

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Just wondering if anyone out there has any info/experience about these grinders. I did a search here but came up with very little info. I was recommended by a barista at a well known cafe/roastery in Brisbane that it was a good grinder. I only do about 6 kgs a week. They look a reasonable price for a commercial grinder. I was curious as to why they dont get much of a mention here? Are there any flaws with this grinder? Thanks
    Greg.

    Gday Greg,

NS grinders are an excellent commercial grinder and as such are quite physically large. Theyre especially suited to espresso since they use a micro-metrical grind setting adjustment. Replacement burr-plates are easy to acquire and providing theyve been looked after reasonably well in commercial service (and you dont mind the size) they would make an excellent snob grinder after the usual clean-up and service... 8-)

    Cheers,
    Mal.

Thanks for that info. Mal. I havent physically seen one yet. I suppose the size of the grinder may put a lot of people off. Any idea of any places in Brisbane where i might be able to look at one.?

Havent got a clue mate but lots of coffee shops and cafes have them in use. Just need to scout around a bit, talk to the PBTC and see if you can have a closer look... Thats all I do if I see something interesting ;)

    Thanks guys / gals..

A contact has asked me to look at his NS *MDX grinder and his Mini Grimac LA UNO coffee machine..

Needless to say I am not shocked at the condition of either... But as usual chasing down the Agents / Supplier of parts can be bigger than doing the work.

Step one will be QCMS and see if they still do support this grinder... Need Burrs and hopper lid *;)

Look like they no longer do...

If any one knows who can supply parts... Please advise ;)
