    Hi ho diggedy!

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hey guys,

Santa was very kind to me this year, and with the help of the parentals and girlfriend managed to knock together a rocky for me. Although I was sceptical, most of the posts here regarding grinders went along the lines of If you dont have a half decent burr grinder, no matter what your technique or skill is, youll end up with shitty coffee.

Having used and abused the new addition to my family for 3 days now I can quite honestly say to anyone feeling as unsure as to the need of having a good grinder as I was, that these guys werent/arent spouting rubbish... or at least not much. The VERY FIRST coffee that I extracted using rocky grinds was overwhelmingly superior to anything I had ever tasted with my old blade grinder, and Id like to think Ive refined the technique and upped the ante somewhat since christmas day. This in my mind makes the effect a decent grinder has on the taste of coffee greater than that of proper training with William Angliss in Melbourne, which I was fortunate enough to get in November.

Anyway to the rest of you, I wanted to thank you for the wonderful advice grouped with friendly banter that led to this latest aquisition. My next endeavour will be to start home roasting (Ive signed up for a starter pack and hope to get going soon!), and then who knows? Hopefully youll be hearing from me quite a lot in the future.

Thanks again for the great resource here.

    Pete
