Expobar Minore III + Compak K3 Touch

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Ahoy there guys :)

Well, my brand spanking Expobar Minore III and Compak K3 Touch arrived today, and Ive been having a bit of trouble finding the sweet spot on the grinder.

Does anybody else have this particular pairing?

Id really appreciate a few hints to remove the stuffing around and wasting of precious coffee beans in the intense and laborious process of dialing in the right grinder settings :)

All part of the fun Cog, your experience with Silvia should serve you pretty well.
Never used a Minore III but I imagine you will need to grind quite a bit finer than you did with Silvia.
    Good luck. :)

It took me a good 10 shots to dial in the K3 touch the first time I used it. Once I found the right spot I marked it with a liquid paper pen, and stuck a sticker on above the shoot to mark the line up point. The K3s indicators are pretty poor. I have little stickers all over mine for the round-about spots for different beans. Each time I load fresh beans in I find myself slightly moving coarser or finer from those spots. Thats the whole point of stepless... to have that ability to dial in the perfect grind.

    Aw :(

Cheers Jon. The Silvia was definitely a great introduction to the barista world. It still amazes me how great a coffee you could make with it, and just how competent a machine it is for the price.

Thanks for the tip about the white-out pen. Ill have to track one down for that purpose. Using our old Nemox Lux grinder over the years definitely makes me appreciate the K3...its just so much quieter, not to mention the stepless feature is MUCH less frustrating than the stepped adjustments :o

Pulled another couple of shots today, and were getting pretty close to the mark. Ive a feeling that when we break out a fresh bag of beans, it will make it a little to fine tune :)
