    Macap M5 help please

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Could someone please tell me how to remove the thrower/rotor(whatever it is called that holds the bottom burr) from the grinder. Does it thread on/off or does it press on/off? I can remove the burrs but not the thrower thingy.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Jaymad

Attilio or one of his erstwhile crew should be able to assist with that Id reckon... 8-)

I dont know for sure but from when I had my M4, it looked to me to be a press fit. Such being the case, you will probably need to borrow a bearing puller from a mechanics workshop and may even then, have to apply direct heat with a small gas torch. Not something to be attempted by the feint hearted or inexperienced... :o

Why do you want to remove the Slinger Jaymad?

    Slinger, sounds Aussie for thrower.

This is purely for cleaning purposes Mal. The slinger has a build up of ground coffee that I cant get with the vac. I didnt want to blow it out because I was afraid this would force coffee were it shouldnt be. I was hoping to soak it in cafetto with the burrs, but if its a press fit then thats not going to happen.

    cheers

    OK, gotcha....

I just used some toothpicks for getting into the crevices and an old feeler gauge for where that would fit, prior to getting into it with the vacuum cleaner. Correct thinking about the option of using pressurised air to blow around in there. Coffee will and does get into places it shouldnt....

    Cheers mate :)
