Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Hi guys, maybe im blind or having a "mans" *::) look but for the life of me I cant find a sponsor listed that sells burrs & parts for Macap grinders. Am I either of the two or is there no spares supplier on the list and I need to go outside of the sponsors :-[ :-/

Have you tried CosmoreX? I know they import Macaps.

No Sniff I havent actually contacted anyone, just looked through the sponsors sites & tried the search function here. Maybe nothing wears out or busts and there is no market for parts ::) :) Yeh, right

    Hello Mono,

All Macap agents including Talk Coffee will be able to source bits for you.

Thanks for the reply Chris :). It just seemed odd that even sponsors that list Macap grinders as stocked by them and list burrs etc for other brands but list no spares etc for the Macaps :-/ I will talk to you soon about my requirements.

    Re: Macap Grinder parts

Some of us have and have always had good stocks of a wide range of spares for any number of machines and grinders but simply do not publicly "list" them as to quote little johnny howard, they are not the "core" part of our business. *This would be true of any number of coffee roasters and coffee equipment importers and sales and service agents.

But if you were to make a personal approach as in telephone *or contact by email, someone would give you an answer even if only to point you in the right direction!*

Seems odd to want "spares" for a grinder however.....unless you drop one there would be virtually nothing required other than an occasional set of grinding plates about once every say....half ton of coffee which in a home situation doesnt come round very often. :)

    Rgds,
    A.

Thanks A. A few weeks ago I managed to find 2 or 3 stones over the course of the weekend [before I built a destoner] I have since looked at the burrs and seem to have been slightly marked by the experience. They still seem to work fine but I was trying to find out the cost of genuine replacements and then was going to decide whether it was worth replacing them:-[

    Re: Macap Grinder parts

Relatively speaking.....Compared to buying cigarettes on an ongoing basis at current level prices, I would consider one spare set of grinding plates to be quite cheap! Price of a set of plates will depend on the vendor there is not set RRP.

You said they seem to work fine......as in I gues that means the coffee is good and doesnt appear to be changed? The crema on the coffee is as usual when you use the same coffee making technique as usual?

If so, then your plates are ok but as stated above, it wont break the bank to buy another set if you want to! *;)
