    M4D as small deli grinder

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Just wondering if I could get away with using my M4D as a bag grinder for small batches (i.e. a couple of kg per week). I believe it has the same internals as the M4C which is marketed as a deli grinder, but has a different snout. I believe the group handle forks can come off. I hope to invest in a new roaster and sell off a few kg of beans to slowly help pay for it. Unfortunately, some want pre-ground.

    Definitely not Buschy.

It has more agressive burrs than the MC4 and is not designed to be on continuously.

Sorry to bring bad tidings, but if you need a deli grinder, you should buy one ;)

Perhaps an old Climax off dodgybay or keep an eye posted on the auction sites like OMaras

Thanks. I just came across an MC7 Deli? Specs....800w, 75mm flat burrs, rpm 1400.

OK for 250>500g with a bit of rest in between each one?

Bigger is better when it comes to doing bags.

Old Climax grinders as Chris mentioned on evil bay run from $1-500ish watch out which version in case you need to replace burrs (older ones need remachining $$$). New ones are available for circa $1k. My old one will do around 16-18kg/hr but after 1kg straight is is becoming about as warm as you would want without a 5 minute break I guess.
