Why are you looking at this particular grinder? Is it even available in Australasia? Plenty of tried and tested options out there that people will recommend. Going on the pictures most of them have a smaller footprint as well.

Based on what? It looks nothing like a Lux.
It looks like an espresso machine without a group. I cant find anywhere that says what kind of Burrs it has, type of burr carrier, steps or stepless. One site says that it has dose control of some description.

    Hope this helps :)

The Aromatic Pro grinder is an automatic, professional coffee grinder and dispenser, designed to maintain the coffees quality and aroma intact.

The body is stainless steel and the mills are conical in hardened, tempered steel to guarantee durability and excellent performance.

The powerful motor is equipped with a reduction system that allows the speed to be reduced from 10,200 to 800 RPM.
A low milling speed ensures that the coffee is not overheated, which might lead to a burnt flavour.

5 Ground Coffee doses always available

    Automatic grinding for reservoir refill

    Discharge function for ground coffee

    Rating: 230V 50-60 Hz Power: 150W

Coffee Container Capacity: 500 grams - 17.5 oz

    Weight: 10 Kg

    Dimensions: WxDxH 220x330x470mm

800rpm wont achieve that. More like 300-400rpm required.

    Weak as water.

Lots of hype and not much substance in the spiel.

Wasnt meaning to have a go a you KK - I realised it was a cut and paste and that you were simply being helpful.

I was just having a dig at all the hyperbole some marketing teams come up with.

    *:o *:o

So its a Lux with ~8Kg of stainless steel bolted on *:-?
Doesnt look like cleaning the burrs will be as easy ::)

    Also found http://www.nemox.com/uk/production/pro_grinder.html

"In the distribution chamber there is a constant amount of approximately 30g (1.05 oz) of ground coffee.

By grazing the distribution button with the filter carrier, 7g (0.25 oz) of coffee are dispensed instantaneously

Thus, the mechanism planned by Nemox allows to obtain doses of ground coffee almost instantly, thus protecting both the coffees aroma and preventing its getting stale."

So it must be some sort of electric doser ?
I dont understand - how doesnt the 30g of ground coffee get stale ?

Perhaps it is 8kg of accoustical shielding given that my Lux is only slighlty quieter than a 747 landing. As for the coffee staying fresh, I cant imagine how that would work given that it is already ground when waiting in the chamber. Is the chamber some sort of vacuum?

Wasnt there a better version of the Lux demod on Home Barista a little while ago? Id be waiting for that one to arrive in Oz before tackling the one above, if youre set on this style of grinder...

HI scarey, i was thinking the same thing. :o

The description of this grinder and even the picture looks so confusing. Even after reading the description i am not sure how it works.I had a laugh Therefore i will wait for a Ibertial Chanllenge grinder i think. They have prety good reviews and are just within my price range( if bought new).
Only thing is i dont know any shops in New Zealand that would sell these grinders? If anyone has bought one of these in nz please let me know.

    thks,
    Anu.

    Hi Anu
For your price range you should look for a Rocky
Its a great grinder that will be at home if & when you decide to upgrade the Sunbeam

x2 if you can afford it. Iberitals are a good grinder to start with but will only last a couple of years, the burr mounting is not as industrial as a Rocky.

    hey kk and muppet,

the rocky doserless is around NZ $ 720 new. Whereas the Ibertial challenge is around NZ $ 400. hence its within my budget. But if i can find a second hand rocky then difinately go for that coz i have heard they are the best. :)
