Mahlkonig K30 Twin: where to buy and more info please.

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi gang,

Anyone know who supplies the Mahlkonig apart from the main importer APC?

The K30 and the twin is the current WBC sponsor replacing the compak K10. Must be doing something right apart from the big $..

Please let me know of the suppliers in Sydney. I am after the K30 Twin in particular. Also would love to hear more about the machine..

    Thanks!!!

Try one before you buy one and ask some competition baristas what they choose to own.

...and then talk to Greg at Appliance Maintenance Company or better still send an email to...

and you will get pricing and availability from the nice people that support CoffeeSnobs.

I think one grinder is too small for APC to bother. *After 5 unreturned calls and unanswered email request. *I give up. *Found a cafe supplier that can source one at a reasonable price. * Thanks.

    hi there
really not wanting to spoil anthing here but have to second andys suggestion of finding out what its like to use and how it performs.
wbc sponsorship is not necessarily synonymous with excellence. from what i have heard, the aurelias (NS espresso machine) did not perform too nicely at wbc specs. i think we would need to consider marketing here...

but im sure the K30 twin performs nicely, domnt get me wrong. i just was hoping that you werent basing your decision based on WBC... :)

    Hello SPL.G,

who is APC? As far as I know the importer is Appliance Maintenance Company.

If you called them, not making any apologies but you have to understand the nature of the business. These people are more importers and wholesalers than retailers and may well prefer to sell to a reseller who will sell to you.....

That said, if they dont come back to you then as you have done, find someone else OR, find another coffee grinder to buy. There are plenty around. I wholeheartedly support what Andy and Aaron have written, WBC sponsorship (and internet reveiws) are more to do with marketing a product, and whatever is said does not mean a particular product is better than any another.

Its just to get that product in your face and get it going....

    Regardz,
    Attilio.

K30Twin was chosen on a number of factors actually. *We initially wanted the Compak K10 WBC due to the footprint/speed and the consistency many was talking about. *However, I have given it a lot of thought and considering our shop operation, having many staffs rotation though out the day/week, I think it would be much harder for us to control the quality from the K10 (we have the super-automatic machine at the moment), plus the grind waste in the hopper would add up eventually, or no waste due to staff lazyness or lack of knowledge, but serving staled coffee is not acceptable. *I know there is the new K10 electronic, but it didnít get as well respect as the original K10.

We were recommended the Nuova Simonelli/Eureka Mythos, by our coffee supplier for its automatic grind/tamp features. *But I think two of that on our work bench would just leave us with very little space. *So the next best thing or actually the best thing is the K30Twin couple with an Espro tamper.

The fact that they are sponsoring the WBC is just an added bonus. *We can rave about it with our customers. *;D

Yes my bad.. it is AMC (I didnít want to put their full name down) and thatís exactly what I thought, so I give up as it really felt like I was begging them for something... but come on. its a $5000+ grinder.
