    The great Mazzer drought

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
FYI all, I spoke with Saeco Aust today and the news is not good for those who had in mind that Santa might leave a mini under the tree. They have confirmed that the best case scenario places these grinders in the warehouse ready to be distributed sometime around 12th January....

Seems we are all going to be waiting for quite some time yet....:(

Oh dear, I guess the shipping guy at Saeco isnt getting a Christmas bonus either.

Thats a BIG whoops to land your shipment after the rush and in the quietest period of the year.

This "drought" has happened for the past 2 years.

Mazzer in Italy have been diverting all their production over the past 2 years to keep up with demand in the US market and leaving their main Australian *Agents short.

However their is evidence to suggest they are satisfying their smaller Australian clients for some particular reason with direct supply.

Very peculiar as when I did Economics 101 back in the dim dark past the law of demand and supply usually dictated that a shortage of supply led to an increase in price.

Very strange therefore this doesnt seem to be the case in Australia at the moment.

A shortage of supply also means most potential customers go elsewhere..

Issue is that there is no elsewhere- pretty much everyone is out of the good stuff....There is no supply of Mazzer, Macap, ECM best.....

I think Im getting a few K3 next week....

Looks like the answer next year will be to import directly by the container load...

Just a heads up guys - I believe that with all the ructions at SAECO Australia over the past few weeks, that there are major problems with their supply of Mazzer Grinders.

This of course means that demand will shift to the second tier suppliers of Mazzer in Australia - as most dont have the resources to carry too much stock, my understanding is that there is now once again a shortage of Mazzer Grinders in Australia.

Of course there may still be a supply line coming via the Owen Stanley Ranges.

Yes- might be tricky for supply.

Were looking at a joint import with another vendor....

hmmmm, I remember hearing how some people would purchase a finely designed and sexy as Italian sports car and then sell it on a year or so later when stocks of the product were low ... of course, the catch is that these investor types would sell the sleek Italian prodcut on for a HUGE profit knowing that it was the only way that some poor unfortunate would be able to get their hands on the work of art and would pay a huge mark up.

That said .. the bidding starts on my Macap M5 .. lets say $5,000.00 ... and I will even throw in a a Maseratti key ring !! :D

All in jest of course .... I won REALY include the keyring, its an extra $50.00
