    Iberital MC2, CGA, CA

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Based on coffee snob members recomendations i have decided to buy a Iberital grinder to replace my tired KG100..

However the reviews i have read and the machienes i have found are : MC2, CGA and CA , Does anyone know if these are all the same machiene with different names or do they have real differences... they all look the same!

Also where is the best place to buy one online?

    Thanks

Some of them sell the Challenge and they will look after you unlike some online sales outlets.

The CA is chrome, the CGA is grey bodied (I presume powdercoat or plastic??) and the MC2 describes the class- i.e MC2 = little one so they are one and the same. I think there are only manual versions coming to Aust now...We sell the chrome one...

    Thanks guys...
so, there are really only 2 types and they are both MC2s? I have noticed a price difference between the CGA and the CA. Is this just because one is chrome or are there functionality differences?

    Gday Sink cut,

Your nick-name doesnt signify a background in mining does it? Just curious,

    Re: Iberital MC2, CGA, CA

Thanks for your help guys... I checked them out in real life and I was a bit dissapointed, they look pretty big and cheaply made.

There was another machiene in the store called the Imini, I think from the same people and aparantly the same guts as the iberital but the casing was smaller and solid steel. Even the chute was made of shiny steel. The hopper was quite a bit smaller too. It had the same worm gear adjustment as the iberital too.

I was very tempted to go for the Imini but thought it a bit risky as i have no information on them.....

I ended up ordering a doserless Rocky.... Should get it soon!!!

The IMini is by Ascaso and looks interesting - seems to have the worm drive but with a larger and more accessible knob than the Iberital.

    Very shiny!

Are any site sponsors stocking this one yet? Id love to have details to pass on to colleagues looking at Grinders.

Cosmorex are selling one for $350. I saw it there in stock and it looks good but they could not tell me anything about it except that they had just tested it. I was very interested in it but they wouldnt even tell me in detail the results of their testing , so of course i could not buy it. The only thing they said is that it has the same guts as the iberital.

I did find a review of the Ascaso grinder, but I do hesitate to post it here, as itll just hijack this original thread about Iberital grinders...

Anyway, if you are still interested, read on here:

    http://www.coffeegeek.com/proreviews/firstlook/innova

What Im finding about a lot of grinders is that they have different product names in other markets, so rather confusing, especially if you are trying to read up and research as much as possible before making a purchase! >:(
