Mazzer Mini or Compak K3 Elite WBC

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Just when I thought I had made my decision on a grinder and was not worrying about it, up comes the Compak K3 Elite WBS, which IMO not only looks nicer than the Mazzer Mini but also has some other cool features.

Then I saw a video on youtube of the Malkhonig Vario and that looks so neat and easy.

So given that when these machines are one special, they are all similar prices, which one would you go for and why?

    Thanks,

    Emille

I can't really give an opinion of my own, but there is an extremely thorough comparison of the two over at Pullman Espresso!

    +1 to Mal's suggestion.
I've had two, the doser and the digital. Both excellent, really excellent.

The M4D sold to someone in QLD............

The doser is still going, in tip top condition, next door. :-D

Don't mind popping in for a coffee now and then!! ;-D

    Thanks everyone.
Why do you think that macap would be better?

The next question is, do I go doser or digital? I just can't see justification in the price difference but I'm open to opinions.

Suggest you go to a store and see if you can try it out...
everyone has a different work flow, and would have a preference between doser/doserless or manual/timer grinder...

I weigh my beans and grind them per shot... so my preference is a doserless manual grinder; because if I have a doser, then it would leave behind grinds in there which I will need to clean out after each grind; you can modify it to be able to use for single grinding, but then I prefer my grind to fall directly in to my PF and use a paintbrush to clear out the remaining grinds...
A timer/digital control grinder, to me, may seem to be useful if you either work in a commercial environment or if you make a lot of coffee at home... its a cool feature to have though, and I'm sure people can work around it for home use just like doser grinders.

I had a MACAP MXA before I bought my Mazzer Super Jolly, both are great grinder, but then I kept the mazzer because I always wanted a mazzer
(Sort of like a debate between a Holden or Ford )
