Red - because it will grind faster! And add a bit of colour to a kitchen.

I voted black but don't mind having the option of polished aluminium.

Black..... because it's restrained, makes a quiet but powerful statement and highlights the bling next to it. ;-D

    Polished aluminium.......well, it's more bling! ;-D

Colours........too 'box branded appliance' like for me. I couldn't take it seriously. :-D

silver and polished aluminium will match most kitchens (and stainless steel espresso machines) a little better I reckon. Though Sniffcoffee does have a fair point about the performance advantage of red ones.

Have seen polished aluminium grinders with quite severe water/other staining, looks terrible.

Polished Aluminium is a very different finish to stainless steel (think antique aircraft hull)- so it doesn't show prints as much as stainless. Regardless, it's a good idea to keep it clean and dry!
