    Which grinder??

    Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi everyone after upgradeitis took over this week and I upgraded from Miss Silvis to VBM Domobar Jnr. Now upgradeitis had kicked in again and I need to upgrade Rocky now looking to which grinder....

    Here are some specifics I need...
    - smallish
    - with doses

    Here's the grinder options I found...

    Compak K3 Elite ::
    Mazzer Mini- manual ::
    Macap M4 ::
    Anfim BEST grinder ::

    All are similar $$ I found through our sponsors here.

    Feedback and thoughts muchly appreciated!!

    Thanks all!!

    Macap M4.

    Hands down. I have owned both an M4D and an M4.

    Even tho' the M4D gets a big rap on here, from myself and others, remember that the two models are almost identical.

    One difference is the doser. Chris knows the other one..... ;-) :-D

    In my mind, and according to my experience, there is no contest.

    Purchase with absolute confidence.

    Erm- 2 features.

    The M4 runs a less aggressive burr set than that in the M4D. As a result, grind time per double is similar to the Mazzer mini at about 20 seconds.

    why only manual doser grinders ? why no timed dosers ?
    Just a personal preference thing ?

    My Personal preference with doses. I only put the right amount of beans and grind what I need each time, but prefer to have it grinding while I get cups etc ready then dose, tamp and pull shot.

    I just like the doses

    do you mean you single dose with weighed beans ?
    If so you could do that much simpler with something like the K3 Touch timer doser, (or any doser less) grinder with a PF holder.
    Just dose the beans, position the PF, and go off to get your cups/milk etc whilst the grinder doses direct into the PF.
    Thats exactly how i use my K3 T ..and a Rocky doser less prior to that
    No doser to clean, and no "retention" in the system, and no mess to clean up ( us a PF funnel).
    As a plus the K3 T is much cheaper than any of your options ..~~$500
    There are other grinders that will work like this, but the key is to have a PF holder that works without you being there.
    Just my approach !

    Thanks for the good ideas Blend52!!
    But like so much in Coffee land personal preference is powerful. I do really like the doser part of my grinders and ability to use them.

    Hopefully looking at a Mini Mazzer... Just need to work out my sales pitch to the department of finance (wife)!!

    Sales pitch complete and mini Mazzer arrived today loving it already, build like a tank but great coffee and quiet!

    Thanks all for your different insights but pick up the mini Mazzer almost brand new (only ground 250g beans) for an absolute steal!!
