"Mazzer has made an abundance of changes and modifications on some models. Although in most cases it appears these are paid upgrades to standard Mazzers. Some of the upgrades include fans for the big boys, and electronic dosing versions of all their grinders if Im not mistaken"

There are some photos buried in Dave and Terry from Espressoparts flickr. *Looks like they have just put the mini E funnel on the robur, etc. *Finally!

Fans are probably a good idea, but if youre doing serious volume, it makes sense to just get three phase wired in. I have heard of a few places running so much coffee through their robur that the heat makes the burr carrier swell and lock into place so that the grind cant be adjusted! That said, my moneys on the friction from grinding being the dominant contributor to heat.

    Cheers,

    Luca

Sounds more like the culprit to me Luca. As a matter of interest, how long does it usually take for a Robur type grinder to fill the Doser Chamber? One would think that they would have accounted for the temperature rise based on the worst case scenario for this fairly normal duty,

How much are 3 phase compared to single phase Roburs? If you have your machine hooked up to 3 phase, would be easy as to hook up the grinder on 3 phase power.
