    Wega 8.0 / Compak k8 fresh

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Just picked up used Wega grinder for home use, looks like compak K8 fresh.
    Bigger is better right?

Been looking the web on explosion chart / parts list and manual with not much luck. Would like to order new short hopper current one is bit scratched up and maybe some burrs.

Next on shopping list is coffee machine.

I can't help with your queries, but I like seeing the killer grinder next to the appliance coffee machine. It goes to show you know what's most important

    nice one!

check the absolute count and work out how many kilos it has ground (say 7 -10g/shot), you might be no where near due for replacement. for home use they will probably last a lifetime!

Try coffeeparts for burrs and hopper, although I havent seen a short hopper on these?

have you googled re manual? Compak | Professional Coffee Grinders | F8 OD
if you find something useful post it in the documentation section.

    cheers

It looks like the same hopper as a Compak F8 A8, etc. I've just bought a short hopper from the USA. Compak Australia sells them for $180 plus shipping

Havent seen one before, that short hopper looks nice. Appears to be a steeper cone, is the lid the same diameter?

    Cheers

Spewing i was hoping it would be around 100$. If i dont need new burrs will fork out for new short hopper.
Is it cheaper from US? I know shipping from US to Perth is quicker than easter states to Perth I had a laugh.

yYou could cut your hopper down to the required height and get a lid to suit, or use a jam funnel, if you wanted to save some $.

US$89.95. You need to ship it to a US address otherwise shipping is crazy expensive to Aus.

Not with an F series. It's not a conventional hopper.

I've got enough room for standard hopper it just not in great state from what missus has mentioned. Ill have look at it tomorrows yay! So if i was getting new one might as well go for smaller hopper. Also been thinking about stripping down the grinder and getting it powder coated and make it look new again. ( left hand side base has a lot of paint chips )

    Wega 8.0 / Compak k8 fresh

I was meaning fitting a makeshift funnel into the round throat instead of using the bayonet mechanism on the outside edge.

    Obviously won't look as slick.

Check the buildup in the chute.

This is really my first time looking at burrs. They feel blunt. Grinder has 27k on counter.
Thinking i might just drop new set it.

    Up for painting.

Weird. Are the burrs parallel? You could check by placing some play dough, adjusting the grind finer and then checking fir uniform thickness.
