    Macap m4 user manual?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Just on that subject *;)

Does anyone know where I can download a manual for the M4 stepless grinder?

Short of that, can someone please confirm for me:
    • When adjusting the grind, the higher number means finer grind? (collar rotates clockwise)
    • Is there any reason not to remove the finger guard from inside the hopper? *Just seems to make it harder to clean grinds out of the chute to me!

    Cheers,
    Matt

    Gday Matty,

Cant help you with the other questions but as far this one goes, its primary purpose is not as a finger guard but as a diffuser to ensure that a constant weight of beans is resting over the grinding chamber to control the consistency of grind to some degree and prevent choking of the entry to the grinding chamber. Its role as a finger guard is mainly coincidental....

    Thanks Mal,

I was actually referring to the finger guard in the doser - it sits right over the chute where the grinds come into the dosing chamber.

Sorry - I should have been more specific...

Ive taken the guard out of the doser in my Mazzer - it doesnt seem to make any difference, just a lot easier to brush out. I wouldnt want to do it while the motor was running though.

    Re: Macap M4 user manual

I took the guard out very early days.
It makes it way easier to clean the chute.

    Clockwise is courser.

(A mod may want to split this to a new topic)

Thanks for splitting out into a new topic Chris ;)

Also thanks to everyone for advice. Now have my grind setting pretty close and will be removing that damn finger guard!
