    Macap M4D upgrade?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
currently have a M4D and thinking of upgrading, home use.
Can't really fault the Macap but wondering if something better is around, quieter, quicker etc
    thanks

In similar shoes, I'm considering and looking for a well priced reasonable condition Mythos One as an upgrade. It seems to single dose well

It seems like the Eureka Atom range is where you want to look. They are apparently very quiet and there are versions coming out with burr sizes bigger than the entry level version - which means faster grind speeds.

The Rocket Fausto is pretty quiet and no slouch. How much faster are you wanting?

Speed isn't really the driving factor, the M4D does the job in around 11 seconds. I'm more wanting something a little more quiet and also wondering in the grind can be better at all to produce a better tasting espresso

Eureka Atom is what you want to be looking at. Don’t think you’d be disappointed, and is at a great price point IMHO.

Bowser, in addition to this thread I would have quick call with Antony of Casa Espresso. He is the Macap importer so knows your machine intimately and also sells the Atom and others. He could probably tell you what you would gain from each level (dollarwise) of change, say to an Atom or Mythos, etc.

I just got the Atom, quiet enough to talk over but also imperceptible at 05.00 from 15 metres through two solid doors, the previous grinder wasn't. Worth it to me for that attribute alone. My other grinder is a Lelit Pl43mmt, an easy class or so below your grinder but the change in the cup is remarkable. I don't know if the grind is better or dialling in is more accurate but both my wife and I noticed it and were impressed. You probably won't get such a jump as you are starting from a better base, which is why I suggest speaking to Antony as I have no idea how big your jump is if any. Good luck.

    Hi,
I changed from the MD4 to a Compak F10 OD which I love - quiet, quick, conical
Is it worth the money to upgrade?
I am not sure as the MD4 is a great grinder but mine was a few years old and I wanted to upgrade. I dont see any future upgrades however
    Good luck with choice
