New (first) grinder - comparing the options - but in the EU
I was pretty happy to find an Australian coffee forum as I've now turned to making my own coffee at home (long story short but I'm originally from Sydney but am now living in the Netherlands). One big downside of this move is that I honestly believe that coffee in Australia is probably the best in the world, and I'm totally used to it.
So to this end - I am trying to get as close to this as possible at home. i've purchased a Quickmill 820 which is working out well for me, however I want to take the next step and get a quality grinder to go with my setup. I'm currently weighing all the options and the Baratza Sette 270 looks to meet most of the requirements and appears to be well regarded (except for some reliability issues?)
The biggest issue for me is sourcing a decent grinder for home use - making 2-4 cups of coffee per day. I guess I am in a unique position where I can purchase from the EU market or the AU market (I travel back to Aus once a year for 4 weeks so I can pick stuff up there).
The question to you all - do you think a Baratza Sette 270 (not the 270wi) will meet most requirements for somebody with a fairly mid level setup? I've seen a lot of talk about the Niche as well but as it's fairly new I'm not sure I want to pull the trigger on it.
On the flip side - if anybody wants anything brought back from the EU, let me know and I will bring it back in my luggage - I may post this in another part of the forum as well as this one is dedicated to grinding!
