    Sette 270W Help

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Have had my Sette since February 2017 and hasn't caused any problems til now. Last week, with no warming, it just stopped working. No lights...Nothing. Tried changing the power cord / source / opened it up to check the fuse and everything looked fine. Will attach some pictures of it internally as well which looks fine to me.

Fortunately, have been eyeing the Atom so decided this was the cue to one and thanks to Antony, I've got one in the mail. Would still love to get my 270W working again though.

    Would appreciate any ideas

    Yeah- they're just not good....

I have 6 or 8 dead ones as well as a pile of new motors. Planning to get rid of them as a project lot for someone who likes to tinker.

    Way too flaky for me.

Check the hopper safety switch, I think there's another switch somewhere too but not sure. The connector with the red and black wire in the last pic also looks like its coming off, re-seat it just to be sure.

If it's an early model 270, I believe they had some issues that were resolved in the later versions so it could be something else.

The hopper safety switch still lets the display come on, except it wonít dispense. This is in the 270w.

    Cheers

Symptoms accord with a power supply failure. The PS is on a PCB below the motor, I believe these are available as a spare part but probably at usurious cost.

If you can't get it working, or you give up because you decide that anything made by Baratza is hopelessly unreliable, I'll buy the load cell and PCB from you. PM me if this is the case.

I reckon it's the power supply too. Gonna send it back to melbourne for repairs as have loved using it til now. Wondering if I should just get them to do the wi upgrade while it's there
