What would you recommend as the best Grinder for home use?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hi

i have owned a Profitec T64 for nearly two years now. It is an excellent grinder but upgraditis has struck. I firmly believe a grinder has more impact on coffee flavour that the espresso machine. I am therefore looking to buy a new grinder. I am less inclined to single dosing machines - it all seems like too much hard work and I would prefer something that doses accurately by weight (ideally) or timing.

Not sure whether flat or conical is best but the Mazzer Kony E looks ok albeit it does not offer grind by weight. How many grinders do?

i am sure there are Coffee Snobs with heaps more experience than me so would be grateful for your thoughts and recommendations.

    What’s your budget?

While not exactly cheap, the guy from Talkecoffee has written a glowing blog post on the Etzinger Etzmax.

Here’s the review, he’s pretty much saying it’s the last word in grinders. Make of that what you will.

Yep, the Etzinger Etzmax was the first grinder that came to mind for me as well with the OP's specification. Not cheap though but a life long proposition...

Thanks for your very helpful and imformed suggestions.

I have had a look online at both the Etzmax and Anfim SPII. To me it looks like the Anfim is a seriously good grinder but aimed at a coffee shop. So at this early stage the Etzmax seems to fit my needs better offering dose by weight and being less noisy (I think).

But I am still very keen to hear of any other suggestions!

The Etzinger really does look like the one to beat these days if you're after gravimetric dosing in a high end grinder.

If you do end up going with one, it would be great if you can post a review on here.

There’s the new Wootz as well, but it’s a fairly big beast so again probably more suitable for a commercial setting. Does look cool though.

What is this Wootz you speak of? Not a lot coming back on google, just a couple of images from Korea!

    Interested in more info.

Yeah it’s from Korea. Pretty sure they have a website, but it might not be in English yet.

I dunno, for a Korean company their English is pretty good.
