Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
    Hey guys,

I have been tossing up between biting the bullet and buying a new grinder for a while (currently using a K3 Touch Advanced, which i think is a 2009 model? it has the timer knob underneath) because i have been getting some bad channeling for the last 2 months despite bean changes. Home use, 2 to 3 coffees a day.
I have decided to buy some new Compak burrs to see if it makes a difference before buying a Niche or Specialita to pare with my expobar minore IV.

I'm just wondering if anybody here has had much success with grind quality improvement when buying new burrs? Pretty sure my current K3 has original blades and has never been replaced.

Thought i'd give this a shot before throwing $1k at a new grinder.

    Cheers in advance!

I'd say that a lot of us have noticed considerable improvment doing this...

Just be sure to verify that the retailer is selling you Genuine Compak branded burrs. There seems to be a bit of underhandedness with certain retailers trying to pass off Generic burrs as genuine with a play on words and part no. Refer - https://coffeesnobs.com.au/grinders/...v-generic.html

If they don't have "Compak K 2058" stamped into them, they're not genuine. Inspect the burrs you're replacing. If they're the original ones you'll see this stamped on the outer edge as shown below.

    Cheers guys!
Luckily they were from alternativebrewing and were the real deal! I have noticed a big difference! I'm stoked my k3 is running better than it ever has.

Although... on the other side of it i was kind of looking forward to a new grinder ha ha!

    Cheers again!
