    Mahlkonig (Baratza) Vario carbon brushes

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
After about 6 years, the carbon brushes in my Vario are worn down and the motor no longer works.
Rather than replace the whole motor for $120, I'm thinking I could just replace the brushes which are 5mm x 6mm x approx. 10mm (new - before they were worn down). I'm guessing they should run to about $5 but I can't find any I can buy locally.
Does anyone know where to get replacement carbon brushes (perhaps from another dead Vario motor)?

    Thanks,
    Rob

    G'day Rob...

If you have a power-tool service/repair operator somewhere close to you, there's a good chance that they will be able to help you out. Just take the brushes with you (they may need to test the carbon to establish its constituents) along with the original dimensions and Bob may be your Uncle as well as your namesake...

    P.S.
You could also grab a set like the brushes in the included image, and then sand down to the required length, attach connectors then away you go...
