    grinder advice please?

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
thanx to everyone for the great advice...i have put the magic bullet (in other words a blender) away and i will never harm beans with it again.... ;D

now i will start looking for a grinder and put off getting a pullman :(

i have just got a brand new sunbeam cafe crema (or the em4800c) and i will be sticking with it (for awhile anyway) so i would like to get a grinder that would suit.... does anybody have any advice what would work well with that paticular machine???also keeping costs down so that i could get a pullman (i really, REALLY want one!)

The minimum I would recommend is a Gaggia MDF or Iberital Challenge at around $300.

If you are really new to coffee machnes etc I would say go with the MDF as it has a doser and *although it is a step by step grind adjustment it will suit you really well. It will also last you for many years as they are build like sherman tanks.

Have a look also at the LaSpaziale Junior- http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1187480374/0#0

I reckon its the best doser grinder I have seen under $600 and probably the only one Id consider owning ;)

I have one on the bench to play with this week. They have a RRP of $530 but this one will be for sale as a demo next week...

    Hi Chris

How does this one compare to the Compak K3 Elite?

I am waiting for my EM0480 to arrive but am considering selling it and buying a better grinder. Any advice would be very welcome *:)

    Hi Charlie,

The Elite is a significantly more expensive grinder and much larger.

It has an auto-cutout flap (which blocks the grinder throat making cleaning challenging) as well as a permanent tamp attached to the front of the grinder (making it difficult to see what youre doing). The Compak is presently available only on champagne powdercoat.

On a postive note, the Compak has stepless adjustment- which the LaSpaz. does not.

I think that the LaSpaz compares VERY favourably with the ECM Best- which is nearly $300 more and really only sexier rather than more functional. With the Best, you pay for design in the polished aluminium body- which does look fantastic ;)..

The Compak is more Mazzer/Macap size and is better compared with them....

Well do some very attractive pricing on the LaSpaziale to launch it. Details via PM....

    regards

    Chris

    Hi Guys,

Im also looking at selling my promo EM0480 grinder and buying a grinder(good quality) for around 500. Any ideas? I have come up with the below. I think the mini Mazzer maybe too much money.

    LaSpaziale Junior
    Ascaso i2
    ECM KS
