    Niche Grinder

Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster $850 - Free Beans Free Freight
Just noticed that Niche is back to shipping directly to Australia. Curious for any sponsors selling Niche - are they still supplying you and ‘grey importing’ their own product at the same time or are they pulling back their local supply arrangements? Anyone have the backstory to whats going on?

Nope- Dec 2019. Presumably they're ex. warranty, freight, duty and GST? The sponsors who sell them will be disappointed as they're under wholesale.

Nope. If you select that option (i.e. the one that says shipping Dec 2019) and fill in an Australian address it says 'shipping not available to that country' (or similar). The bottom option (shipping December 2020) does allow Australian addresses, but also adds GBP50.00 shipping (so just shy of AUD100), plus you are liable for import duties and GST if levied. Even if you avoided duty and GST, the landed cost would be about 1030 which surely can't be under wholesale?

the 2019 one doesnt ship to australia, i just tried it, so its the 2020 lot and it doesnt say anything about ex warranty that i could see?
so with shipping it works out to be $1038, add the gst and anything else you will be hit with when it arrives, i dont see the value when you can purchase it locally for around $1200 and no waiting time.
Cant see the the local sellers been disappointed

EDIT: I see Barry beat me to it

Agreed. If you purchase one from overseas, your consumer rights will be in the UK and you're liable for all import costs.

Regardless, the ethics of companies who court an importer to grow a brand and then seek to shaft them.... I'm not thinking that the importer (site sponsor ECA) are going to be too interested in warranty on UK stock.
