That was the exact same reaction I got when I stood the Cimbali MD6 next to the Gaggia MDF, it absolutely towered over the little MDF, until I got the Gaggia MG which made the Cimbali look undernourished. New burrs make a huge difference to the grind quality...I couldnt beleive the difference it made to the pour! Enjoy!!

One sits idle on the floor. Was a gift from my ex-boss. Since he was getting another "free" one from a different supplier.

The other was a "dead" one given to me by another ex-boss. I repaired it, and it is now my main plunger grinder.

When you say one you use for plunger coffee, does that mean that it doesnt grind well enough for espresso???????? Ray.

    Re: Huge Commercial grinder

Looks like two or more grinders are necessary for different coffee preferences I had a laugh, one for espresso, plunger, de-caf, fresh beans, old beans etc. One could have bench set up with a row of grinders, all neatly labelled with settings and coffee types...okay..how many CSers already have that...come on do tell!!! ;D

uhhmmm, Big Bertha (Ms Carimali) on the bench next to the Bott for the espresso, a DeVe on the opposite bench for the regular plunger (each grinder with different beans) and a Zass in the office (3 steps away ;) ) for the Decaf-plunger ... grinders not lined up only because i do not have enough bench-space to put them side by side... ;D ;D

    Re: Huge Commercial grinder

I have a Mazzer Super Jolly for Espresso and Events (My Blend), Sunbeam EM0480 for Decaf, and a Gino Rossi (Labled as a BOEMA) Bag grinder - for Plunger and bags :-).. A think another Super Jolly is in order for Single Origin - Oh would the wife be happy about that - NOT! All using Bench space in the Kitchen - soon to be relocated to a Coffee Dedicated area in the Rumpus room. Youre right Ray C, doesnt hurt to have a few. ;)

    Ray,

Nice pick up mate. Glad the wife is happy. The Gino Rossi is a beast of the grinder. My Super Jolly is the same size in height as the Gino Rossi - but the Super is heavier ;-)

    Re: Huge Commercial grinder

Mate, I see a few bible scripture references there:

Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

    Amen and Amen..........
