Its not new, but pretty close.
Factory reco with new electrics (including new motor) and a respray.

Does a good job too, 60kg per hour and the medium setting is really espresso fine. *The espresso setting is turkish powder.

Dont forget to use dynabolts to secure it to the slab, or park a rottweiler in front of it - which ever suits.

"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......Down boy, down boy Im just going to grind some beans...you remember who I am dont you??"

    No such luck Mal *:(

Its great to watch the speed it chews the beans-up. Great grind quality too, soooo even.

Doh! *My guess was a Doberman to guard the beans ...
    (cack)

Dynabolts might win over a Doberman!
(hands-up who wants dog hair in their beans) ;)

Yes, I do think this will be well bolted-down, that and the fact its 30kg should slow the buggers down if nothing else.

    Who services? *
No idea, at the end of the day its just a grinder ie: burrs and a motor. *The motor is new and the in 3 years time might need brushes, burrs can be re-ground by any one dealing with tool steel or I can get some from Germany. *

Besides, by then we would have educated the whole country that whole bean is far better then pre-ground and this monster will sit idle. *

    3 phase power?

The ditting at work hooked up to 3 phase chews through the beans like no tomorrow.....like enough coffee for 1 handle in like 2 seconds....

Do you feel heat in the ground coffee at all?

Congratulations Andy - looks beautifully refurbished and must say, better looking than a Ditting.

Thanks Dennis. Yes, its full factory refurb from the chassis-up so they could have passed it off as new one really. It came with new manuals, packing even some Grindz grinder cleaner.

Nah, not 3 phase David, its about as big a burr set as you can go in single phase. No heat in the grinds in the first 1/2 kilo but the burrs are new. Maybe once they get a little older it might add some.

I think the output would be similar but the 3 phase motor are designed to run for a higher percentage of any given hour.

Mahlkonig has been making pointy-end grinders for nearly as long a La Marzocco have been making machines so I can only trust them to know what they are doing by now.
    ;)

I think youre better off not to have a 3 phase Andy. The guy who deals in Dittings had several older 3 phases on the warehouse floor but no 2nd hand singles. He said that unlike the 3 phase, any 2nd hand singles get snapped up.

I think that translates to better resale value, though would be surprised if you ever need to upgrade from this beauty!

While it was some time ago now it still haunts my memory that so much coffee was being pre-ground. The last large grinder I comissioned was a 5 roller, liquid cooled, 1 ton per hour(espresso), US$125 000 beast. It was close to the size of our 90Kg Probat!!!!
