I drink flat white espresso - 5 to 6 cups per day. I use a Gaggia Classic and purchase ground coffee. The result is "okay" but nowhere near as good as cafe coffee. Someone suggested grinding my own beans would make a significant difference, so Im now looking at grinders.
My Gaggia is due for upgrade within the year. I intend to go to something like the Giotto. Im wondering whether to get a grinder now (if it makes such a difference) or (if it doesnt) to wait until I upgrade my espresso unit.
Q1 - Would grinding my own beans make a much of a difference to quality coming out of the Gaggia?
Q2 - Ive seen advice that recommends buying the best grinder one can afford: What characterises the better grinder? What do I look for when reading specs?
